Lois Kernohan Fitness
A large proportion of the population will never join a
gym. This may be for a variety of reasons:
- Financial - they may not have the disposable income to pay gym fees;
- Commitment - they feel that they would not frequent the gym often enough to
benefit from the fees;
- Or a variety of other reasons both real and perceived.
Therefore, my company offers 'pay-as-you-go' fitness classes
(e.g. aerobics, body conditioning, body blast etc.) in local community venues
(e.g. community centres and primary schools). My company provides
professional, safe, fun and effective fitness classes for the community without
having to pay huge fees. It's message is - You don't have to pay an
expensive monthly fee to benefit from effective, professional and up-to-date
fitness instruction.
There seems to be a misconception that community fitness
classes do not embrace the latest trends in fitness and do not offer their
clients the latest information, knowledge and styles. In my experience,
the most enlightened and educated instructors tend to be freelance/freestyle
instructors who not only have the passion to run their own classes but also have
to ensure they are up-to-date, clued in and enthusiastic about change in order
to maintain a customer base.
My 'vision' for my fitness classes is to challenge the idea
that by attending community classes you are receiving second-class instruction
and fitness. I want my logo to convey a professionalism, sleekness and modern
style that will compete with the images of health clubs. Although it is the
responsibility of the instructor to generate a feeling of trust, confidence and
belief in the instructor and the classes being taught.
