K5 Advanced Driving

Drivers - what crosses your mind when you turn the key?

3,000 people lose their lives on UK roads each year - could you be turning the key for the last time? Around 1,000 people are injured in traffic accidents every day in the UK.  Even minor collisions have a high cost both in terms of time and money.  While vehicle technology has progressed massively over the years, driving skills have not.  95% of all accidents are a result of human error; the driver is still the weakest link in the chain.

Employers - How can you cut fleet running costs and meet H & S requirements?

Mile for mile, fleet drivers are 50% more likely to be involved in a traffic accident.  Up to one third of all traffic accidents involve someone who is working at the time.  Leaving the human cost aside, the economic cost to the employer is considerable and includes replacement vehicles, lost stock, increased insurance costs, sick absence, business reputation and more.  In addition, Health and Safety legislation obliges employers to ensure that employees are adequately trained for their work activities, which includes driving.

Benefits of Advanced Driver Training:

  • Reduced likelyhood of accident and injury
  • Reduced fuel consumption
  • Reduced tyre and brake wear
  • Reduced vehicle repair and downtime
  • Reduced absence due to injury
  • Reduced driver stress - improved efficiency
  • Avoidance of fines and legal proceedings
  • Improved insurance terms and costs
  • Improved employee morale
  • Improved and more effective customer service
  • Compliance with health and safety responsibilities

As well as reducing the risk of a driver being the cause of an accident, Advanced Driver Training also develops a much more defensive approach to driving that enables the driver to avoid being caught up the mistakes of other road users.
