H Young accountants was set up in March 2006 by Hazel Young. It is a Newtownards based practice regulated under the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).

The principal Hazel Young has been involved in accountancy all her working life. Hazel started work in the accounts department of a local firm involved in the motor trade where she began studying towards the accounting technicians exams. From there she moved to Wilkinson Maxwell & Co Chartered Accountants and began studying for the Chartered Certified Accountants exams. It was here she qualified in 1999. A move then followed to Neeson Chambers Accountants where she continued to gain experience in a vast number of areas from the small sole trade accounts to the large companies with turnover in excess of £5 million which required audit. From the farmer, joiner, motor trader, solicitor (who needed a specialised audit), the financial advisor regulated under the Financial Services Act (another different specialised audit) and one could go on. Experience was not only gained in the accountancy end but also in tax and planning areas also.

A Word from Hazel Young
Today’s business environment is complex and competitive ant thus business owners need professionals to support them by providing timely, effective advice to help their business to continue to move forward. I would also encourage a strong business relationship with your accountant with frequent contact – business opportunities don’t present themselves just once a year, thus it is essential for the client to feel they can pick up the phone to run an idea past you. Understanding clients needs and the range of business services offered by this practice means that the service given to the client is of the highest quality.
