The Design Process

Things are beginning to move again in the garden.  A mild winter and early spring is bringing a burst of early growth.  The excitement of the gardening year to come is starting to pick up.  Now is the time to carry out the following:

• Plan your garden projects for the incoming year
• Prune back Buddleia to the base of last years growth to ensure a healthy framework and abundance of flowers this year
• Plant bare-root hedge and trees
• Move larger deciduous trees and shrubs during good weather
• Remove weeds from planting beds and dead-head plants for a tidy appearance
• Lift, divide and replant old herbaceous perennials
• Prune fruit trees removing older branches to encourage new growth
