For Cod & Ulster was established on the 1st of February 2007 and open for business on the 23rd April 2007. Our aim is to bring a unique sense of belonging to our customers and making them feel part of something, giving them the finest quality of locally produced food- and we are the only place in the world were you can eat Ian Paisley and Gerry Adams!!
The Proprietor of For Cod & Ulster- David Kerr thought of the unusual business name a few years ago and realised it was too good to waste, and so started on the road to setting it up- and the rest is history!
Just ask anyone on the street! The hype and attention For Cod & Ulster has received is unbelievable to say the least, before the doors have even opened!. We have featured on the BBC, UTV, in the Sunday World, The Sun, The Newsletter and in The Irish News.
We offer all the traditional menu of a fish and chip shop but in our own unique style. For instance King Billy's Family Feast only £16.90, The George Best burger, The Belfast Giant, The Red Hand, Goliaths Goujons... the list goes on.
We are also working to make For Cod & Ulster a brand name throughout Northern Ireland and further afield through our own design of t-Shirts, chocolate bars, key-rings and teddy bears.
The benefit is that we are unique to Northern Ireland (when before would you have seen Gerry Adams on a shutter on the Albertbridge Road in East Belfast?) Times are changing and we want to improve the image of our country- remember we have the best football team in the world as well as the best supporters in the world!! Some people say we are more like a museum than a chippy... we stand out from the crowd, why be the same as everyone else? We will be working with the relevant tour companies in Northern Ireland in the future- so come and visit us at For Cod & Ulster!
