Diane Morrison Music Tuition was started in 2005 and aims to make music informative, accessible and enjoyable for students of all ages. She encourages students to have an all- round musical education through performing, sight-reading and aural awareness. This provides students with a broader perspective and greater musical understanding. Whether you want to learn classics or contemporary, musicals or motets, Diane will be able to help you achieve your full potential.
Diane has a BA Honours degree in Music, is an Associate of Trinity College London and offers tuition in the following areas:
Singing Tuition Specialising in classical singing, as well as pop, musical theatre and jazz, in addition to vocal pathology. Sight singing and general musical awareness are also included
Piano Tuition A range of genres are covered from Baroque to contemporary and light jazz
Music Theory Using the ABRSM syllabus.
Diane accepts pupils at any level and teaches singers from age 7 upwards and pianists from age 6. There is no upper age limit for lessons. Lessons are conducted in a relaxed and informal manner in a comfortable learning environment at her home in North Down. Sessions run from 3.30-6.30 pm in half hour slots Tuesday to Friday and there are limited evening slots from 7.30-9 pm (please check for details, as teaching hours are subject to change).
Tuition may be tailored for music exams and Diane can enter students for the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music, or for local music festivals. Diane has a keen interest in the Kodaly teaching method, which aids musicianship. She is also studying the Estill vocal model, and is regularly looking at ways to develop the service for her students.
Diane is also available to play piano for functions or sing at weddings and offers a wide range of repertoire to suit each client.
