Working on a fully freelance basis, David can provide specialist ornithological surveys, general habitat and vegetation surveys, taxonomic identification of plant species and general faunal surveys. All surveys are carried out using standard methodologies as approved by RSPB, BTO and JNCC and updated in keeping with new developments. Surveys are also tailored as much as possible to meet the specific needs of particular clients and to minimize client costs whilst still providing the requisite information.
As a natural progression from survey, David can provide Environmental Impact Assessment for the ornithological and general ecological interests of a site, and can also provide expert advice on general habitat management and mitigation measures for wildlife interests.
Examples of clients and of ongoing and completed consultancy work include:
Environmental (Ecology) Impact Assessments for ten proposed wind farm sites (eight in Northern Ireland and two in Republic of Ireland), for B9 Energy Services.
On-going four year monitoring study of breeding birds on an operating wind farm site in Co. Tyrone, for B9.
