Alan R McDade, UD, I.Eng. MIED, MCGI, started his engineering career in the aircraft industry where he completed his basic engineering and technical training which gained him the promotion onto the technical staff as a Jig and Tool Design Engineer. After thirteen years in aircraft manufacturing he moved to the telecommunications manufacturing industry. He has held a variety of senior management posts in production, manufacturing, design, facilities and site services, project management and market support. In addition he is experienced in using MRP, SAP and Supply Chain Management methodology. His various roles have taken him to the USA, Poland, Canada, Hong Kong, China and Holland. He has recieved several awards for initiative and in particular for his work with a local school in promoting engineering as a career. The environment is how his agenda and his efforts have been been recognised by employers for his work in energy conservation and the introduction of Environmental Management Systems. He holds an HNC in Engineering, City and Guilds FTC in Production Engineering and another FTC in Jig and Tool Design. He also holds H Government SC clearances and is registered with the Engineering Council as an Incorporated Engineer (I.Eng); a member of The Institution of Engineering Designers (MIED); and he has recently been awarded a Level Seven qualification in Management and Leadership by City and Guilds(MCGI). |
