Women's Soccer's Barnes Tabbed for UAA, ECAC Metro Awards

New York University senior goalkeeper Katie Barnes earned both University Athletic Association (UAA) and Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Metro Defensive Athlete of the Week accolades.

In two matches, Barnes only allowed one goal while helping the Violets (6-0-1) continue their best season start ever. She made eight saves in a 2-1 victory over Vassar College. The senior co-captain then recorded her career-high tying fourth shutout of the season while making a personal-best 13 saves against Allegheny College.

For the season, Barnes is 6-0-1 with a 0.31 goals against average.

The Violets return to the pitch against Friday, Sept. 21, against Manhattanville College at Pier 40 in Manhattan.
